About

Steelhead Western Martial Arts club is a HEMA Alliance affiliate studying primarily German KDF sources.  We were founded in 2017 with help from Pittsburgh's Broken Plow HEMA club, and have operated in several locations around Erie, PA over the last few years.  In 2023, we joined the Ohio River Valley League (ORVL).

Our primary Longsword sources are the Ringeck, Von Danzig, and Lew Glosses of Johannes Liechtenauer's Zettel.

For Langes Messer, we use Jobst von Württemberg and Hans Lecküchner.

For Rapier, we are currently using the Capo Ferro Italian system.​​
